Watch Out

For Graphic Design 4, we had to make a book describing our geography. Since the project was extremely open ended, I really wanted to make something almost sculptural in form. For a concept word, I chose grandfatherhood. My grandfather unfortunately passed away late 2019, and he was the only real father figure that I had when I was growing up. I received a lot of items of his that I view almost as if they were relics that belong in a museum. I have deep attachments to them, as they were objects that I have been around all my life. I wanted to give readers the same feeling that I would feel when holding these objects, so I made a stack of acrylic boxes that held each item, with a description of the object and the history behind it. I also made a custom carrying pouch to hold all of the boxes for easy transportation.
